De-icers at the Chicago Police Marine Docks
Kasco De-Icers help the Chicago Police Marine unit boats stay on the move for winter maneuvers. The marina is open and they have access to the fuel dock. One man installs 25 Kasco deicers each year in preparation for winter ice prevention around the docks.
Whale Rescue – Barrow, Alaska
Kasco Marine sent equipment and personnel 312 miles north of the Arctic Circle to assist with a whale rescue in 1988. 3/4 HP circulator kept the holes open in the ice at negative 30 degrees. The whales appreciated it and Kasco was proud to work with the Inuit crews, and Alaskan wildlife officials. A Russian icebreaker arrived later to free the whales.
