Kasco Marine, Inc. was founded in the early 1970's with the introduction of the Kasco De-Icer to help marina's protect equipment in the water during harsh Minnesota winters. Kasco had great regional support throughout the 1970's and with a redesigned unit in 1980, took on the national market and quickly became the nations leader in De-Icing equipment. Kasco De-Icers were so well received throughout the U.S., the De-Icer quickly became the industry standard. The Kasco pioneered the De-Icing or Ice Prevention industry and coined the term De-Icer. After 35+ years of De-Icing, Kasco Marine, Inc. is still the industry leader and the standard in the ice prevention industry.

Kasco gained even more national and international publicity in October, 1988. Kasco sent our De-Icing equipment and company personnel 312 miles north of the Arctic Circle to help with the "whale rescue" off the coast of Barrow, Alaska. Although Kasco Marine had no official invitation, we were convinced our equipment could do the job. . . so Kasco decided to "crash the party". At first, local officials did not take Kasco's De-Icing equipment seriously, but they quickly became enthusiastic after seeing the great results Kasco delivered. There was also a friendly reception from the whales. Kasco's 3/4 HP De-Icer on a Horizontal Float maintained ice-free breathing holes for the trapped whales at temperatures consistently reaching -30 degrees Fahrenheit. Keeping breathing holes free of ice, while waiting for a Russian ice-breaker, was essential to the ultimate freedom of the trapped whales. Kasco Marine is proud to join all who thank the Inuit crews, Alaskan officials, wildlife biologists and the many other contributed to this rescue effort.

Soon after moving into the national scene, the De-icer was modified and a float was added. The Kasco Aerator was born. From there, the product was modified again to create Fountain and Circulator model units. By modifying several different units and strong success with each, Kasco is able to take advantage of the large buying power and pass that value on to you, the customer. Kasco is continually working to improve existing products as well as adding new products to better serve your needs.
